Enrolling Alts

Post by Lorne Hazlewood » Tue Jun 28, 2011 10:00 pm

Current members have a slightly different application procedure from new members. Existing members should first talk the concept and character over with their Officer Contact and then fill out the following brief questionnaire and post it in the Enrollment Forum.

Please note that we are both more relaxed and more strict about alts than we are with new players. With an existing player, we can be a bit more relaxed because we already know you. Instead of getting to know a new player and a new character, we just have to focus on the new character.

However, we're also a bit more strict. On the application front, you have seen inside the group and have access to your very own personal officer sounding board, so the expectations for the concept 'out of the gate' are notably higher than they are for a new applicant. Additionally, if you only have one character and don't have much time to invest in playing, we'll be pretty accommodating. But if you plan to maintain two characters in the group, we're going to expect that you keep an active presence for both characters. If your activity levels are already fairly low, we may not approve a second character. (The latter applies less if you're looking to replace your existing character rather than bring in and maintain a second character.)

You're not allowed to bring in an alt until you've attained Member rank. (However, you're allowed to apply to bring in a replacement character at any rank if your current character isn't working for you.) As a rule of thumb, we encourage you to wait until you've been in the group for at least three months before bringing in an alt; however, that isn't a hard and fast rule.

During an enrollment freeze, you may still submit an alt request for consideration; however, we may or may not wait until the freeze is over to enroll the character.

If it's a replacement character: What are your plans for removing your current character?
