Nominations Are Open for Prom Queen and Prom King!

The Westbrook Academy 2011 Prom will be held on Saturday, June 4. Nominations are now open for Prom Queen and Prom King! Please send your nominations to the Prom Committee at prom@westbrook.edu by Friday, May 13.

Nilesh stared at his email for a few moments, then had to laugh. Who the hell had nominated him? Was this a joke or something? Nah, it was probably some bloke trying to kiss his ass. Bart probably, he'd been sucking up a lot this past week.

He considered it for a few minutes before hitting reply. He was pretty sure he wouldn't win. But what the hell, why not?

Diego had to read the email a second time. He hadn't expected to be nominated. He hadn't been at Westbrook for very long, and the first few weeks had been spent being tormented by a less than friendly Loa. He didn't see himself as all that popular. He had friends, sure, but he didn't think any of them would nominate him. Eli...Eli had probably nominated him. Afterall, Diego had nominated his boyfriend for prom king.

He replied to the email, accepting the nomination. What was the harm in accepting it?

Eli leaned back in his seat and thought about it. No doubt Diego had nominated him. And he'd nominated Diego. Would Diego accept? It was hard to say. If they both accepted though, they'd be putting themselves in competition with one another. That wouldn't be the end of the world or anything, but it would be slightly awkward. He didn't want to compete with Diego.

Even if Diego didn't accept his nomination, Kai had mentioned nominating himself for Queen. What would happen if Kai won Queen and Eli won King? That could be rather awkward, too. Plus, who knows how Ar would react to that.

He shrugged to himself, then sent off a response politely declining the nomination. It would likely be more trouble than it was really worth, and he didn't really see himself as a prom king kinda guy anyway.

James looked at the letter with wide eyes. Someone had nominated him for Prom King? Who would nominate him for Prom King? He knew that Jess had joked about how cute he and Mia would look like as King and Queen, but James never really thought he'd ever have a shot of it ever happening! This had to be Jess' work....Jess' work or Mia's work...Well...he could always try to look and see if he could find out who did it, but....he had used his Sight more than enough for now, and enough problems had been caused because of it.

James typed out the acceptance and sent it. After all...it would be fun if he and Mia were to win it....

It was getting late when Jeremy returned from hanging out in Perez Park with everybody. Diego was still up though, working on his computer. Doing homework maybe?

“Hey Diego! What’s up!” He gave Diego a cheerful wave.

“Hola, Jeremy. Just doing some work.” He returned his focus to his computer. He’d been kind of distracted lately. Oh well, he probably shouldn’t interrupt his homework or whatever he was doing.

Jeremy had homework of his own he should probably finish up, but before doing that, he wanted to check his email. He hadn’t checked it for a few days so he was probably overdue!

He sat down at his desk. His computer was on the floor nearby. Thanks to Syd it was well insultated and pretty safe from Jeremy’s electrical surges as long as he didn’t mess around with it too much directly. Plus he used a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse, so if he fried either of them it didn’t hurt the computer itself. He had a stack of spare wireless keyboards and mouses on the floor next to the computer... he did tend to go through them sometimes. Oh well.

Before turning on the computer or messing with the keyboard or mouse though, Jeremy relaxed and tried to focus on not sparking as much. It kind of was like holding your breath, except you weren’t holding your breath you were holding sparks, but it didn’t feel like holding sparks, it felt more like holding your breath, except it wasn’t holding your breath at all. In fact he had to make sure he didn’t hold his breath because when he did that it doesn’t stop him from sparking at all. It was kind of confusing and he wasn’t really sure what he was doing but if he concentrated on it right... there! The sparks stopped! He gave his monitor a thumbs-up, then turned the computer on.

While the computer was booting up, he thought about what they’d been talking about in Perez Park. Was Jamie--Jessie!--was Jessie serious about him getting a kiss after prom? Did that mean she actually liked liked him? He’d need to work on coming up with some better condiments, he couldn’t just always say she looked pretty. Oh, he could condiment her spots! He liked the way they-- oh! Windows was finished booting.

He clicked open his email and started skimming through them. There was one about girl’s soccer but he wasn’t a girl so he wasn’t interested in girl’s soccer. Well except maybe to watch sometimes. There were a few FacePlace notifications, he’d have to go look at that tomorrow. The one about pfizzing was probably a spam since it didn’t make any sense, so he clicked the spam button on it. There was one about prom, which was a few weeks off yet--wait! He had to read over it again.

Someone nominated him to run for prom king? No way! That was awesome! Beaming, he clicked reply and started typing and--the keyboard wasn’t working.

Oh. He was sparking again... and probably fried it.

“Hey Diego! Are you busy! I got nominated for prom king but I fried my keyboard and I need to reply to the email but I probably shouldn’t plug the wireless plug thingie into the computer myself even if it’s insulated ohmygod I’m running for prom king!”

Jessie had opened the e-mail with trepidation. Given that Mia had mentioned nominating her for prom queen, Jessie had assumed that this moment would come. She tapped her fingers arhythmically on her desk and she considered her response. Prom queen was way more attention than she wanted and there had to be plenty of other girls who really wanted the title. Running against them when she didn't particularly care wasn't really fair. However... Mia -had- nominated her and would want Jessie to accept the nomination.

With a sigh, she sent a reply signaling her acceptance. She would just... help someone else win the title.
