POWERS:
Holly has the ability to sense the flow of time around her and, to a very limited degree, alter it by creating localized distortion fields. These effects are short ranged, localized, and usually of short duration, lasting only minutes or seconds.
In addition, she can sometimes see echoes of past people and events and make those echoes manifest in a quasi-real form. As she has no greater tie than to her own past and more distant echoes are harder to make manifest, she usually uses this ability to grab a recent "shadow" of herself and drag it into in the present. These temporal echoes may or may not have substance and often appear translucent, shadowy, or indistinct.
APPEARANCE:
Holly is just a little on the short and thin side, but is otherwise fairly average. Her blue eyes occasionally roam giving others the impression they may not have her full attention. When it’s not tied into a ponytail, her black hair is left to hang unkempt and unstyled.
You will rarely find Holly sporting the latest fashions, makeup, or any kind of jewelry. Most of her clothes are second-hand, and more than a few of them show signs of pretty serious wear.
BIO:
Holly was born and raised outside of Vicksburg, Mississippi where she lived with her parents Ryan and Ashlee and three siblings. She had a fairly normal childhood. Ryan worked as an auto mechanic and Ashlee taught middle school, allowing her to be home most afternoons with the children. While Holly’s parents never had what might be considered an ideal marriage, they were able to make it work until about six months ago. Arguments built up to screaming matches, and a messy divorce followed.
Always having been an outdoor kind of person, Holly took to spending less time at home as her parents’ marriage worsened. Even when autumn months brought earlier sunsets and chillier nights, she’d often come home well after dinner. Ashlee sat down with her one evening, and Holly admitted she could still see them fighting in the living room. Ashlee thought no more of it than a bad memory. With her father now out of the house, things were more peaceful and Ashlee made Holly promise to try to be home more often.
Holly had other reasons for staying away though. No child likes to hear their parents argue, but something different was happening with Holly, something she couldn't explain, and something she wasn't sure her family would understand. Part of her was afraid she was going crazy. The very idea that she could see shadows of herself, of others, or of recent events clear as day unnerved her. Even stranger was the ability to conjure these shadows herself. Finally, she confided in her mother. After several psychological and physical tests, Holly was pulled out of school to spend a few days in nearby Jackson where there was a small college with a department that studied the metahuman phenomenon. After more tests and consultations, the school’s counselor suggested Ashlee look to Paragon City.
