Notes
As explained in The Dorms, students typically each have one roommate and two quadmates. Boys are on the second floor, girls on the third. The two rooms for a quad have the same number but are labeled A and B; A is on the left, B on the right. While the exact layout and number of rooms is not specified, you can safely assume that rooms that are closer in number are physically closer to one another and that odd numbers are on one side of the hallway and even numbers on the other side.
At the beginning of each trimester (Fall, Spring, and Summer), dormitory assignments are opened up so that students may change room assignments at will. During the trimester, changes are only allowed on a case by case basis and new students are placed where there is room.
OOC: Players are encouraged to establish a roommate and quadmates for their characters, but this is optional and not required. You are encouraged to work with other players to figure out your roommate and quadmate situation, but you may also post here and request that we arbitrarily assign you if you prefer. New characters may post here and request a dorm assignment at any time, while existing players should only request changes at the beginning of trimesters (unless there are extenuating circumstances).
Many players choose to have a dorm room in the base decorated to reflect their characters' living area. A map of the current in-game room assignments can be found in Dorm Map. However, be advised that the in-game map does not correlate directly to the actual dorms. We have limited space in the base for dorms and many players have to share. Dorm space in the base is "wonky". Further, dorm rooms are paired in quads, which isn't reflected in the base. The base's dorm rooms are intended to provide a space to facilitate roleplay and are not intended to literally represent the dorms.
To keep this thread short and clean, posts will periodically be archived to Dormitory Assignments (Archived).
