Amanda Acker Training Facility

Post by Westbrook Academy » Sat Oct 08, 2011 9:46 am

The Amanda Acker Training Facility, colloquially known as “the bunker”, is the Academy’s safe space for students to practice their abilities and test their limits.

The training facility’s walls are four meters of impervium-reinforced concrete. The walls are further reinforced by several different kinds of force fields to further contain different kinds of energies and reactions within the room. While no facility can be completely failproof in containing metahuman abilities, the Amanda Acker Training Facility’s rugged construction brings it as close is as possible. As a further safety measure, a wide spectrum of sensors continually monitor the activity within the facility and are configured to notify school and city officials if readings exceed certain safety thresholds.

To assist with training, the facility can provide various drones and obstacles with which to interact. These are programmable and students may work with their advisers to create customized practice routines.

The facility also has an observation deck that allows instructors and other viewers to safely watch while a student practices their powers.

  • About the Sponsor
Amanda Acker was more commonly known as the mighty heroine Lady Hercules, noted for her ability to smash through any obstacle in her path. During her career, she destroyed many, many training rooms accidentally when they weren’t able to handle her strength. Above all, Amanda wanted a space where she could test her limits safely. After retiring her cape, Amanda pursued a career in architecture and jumped at the chance to help create a training center for the newly formed Westbrook Academy. Amanda not only paid for the majority of the Bunker’s construction costs, but also personally tested nearly every aspect of the space to ensure it would be able to challenge even the most durable future students.
