Private rooms have their own bathroom and everything, so that the whole range of control issues that make cohabitation difficult can be addressed. That's why they've been listed in the past without the A and B by the room number (and typically as one of the first five numbers on the floor, but that was more my rule of thumb than Dorm Law).

If Shayne is going private, her room wouldn't be part of a suite.
