Sign-Up Sheet in the Library

Laid out on the check out desk in the library is a single sheet of paper. Written in neat, flowing text across the top is:
Chemistry Study Group
With finals coming up, I figure quite a few people might be in the same boat as me. Maybe if we combine knowledge, we can all pass and be done with chemistry for good! We can meet in the library, just about any evening.

Roach wrinkles his nose as he looks over the sheet. He scratches at the back of his head with a pencil, pondering for a moment before rolling his shoulders into a shrug. "Couldn't hurt".
And with that, he signs his name.

Lunch break; Gwen had just popped into the library to return a book, just some stuff she'd had to cram for the term paper she'd just written up. After congratulating herself for avoiding the painful accrue of library fees, her eyes caught the corner of Mia's paper. Despite the events of Monday, she managed to brighten up. Oh hey, it was Mia's Chemistry thing! She was going to help with that, wasn't she? The pen was in her hand, and her name was about to be jotted down...
...But then she read the second name on the sheet, and her pen stalled in mid-air. Roach Copeland? Really?
Even after adjusting to the fact that the dirty homeless kid from the Isles was at this big ol' preppy private school, seeing his name was still a bit of a shock, and an unpleasant surprise. She'd been avoiding Roach ever since he started up again with the name-calling and the sexual innuendo; she got enough of that behaviour from other students.
With a deep sigh, she put down the pen and turned to walk to the door. "Figures," she muttered, frustration written all over her face. Second half of school period to go; she really needed to go sting crime in the face repeatedly after she got through this day.

James was on his way to History when he spotted the paper while exiting the library. Already Mia's name and Roach's name were on the list. He pondered a moment, a great a deep, and thoughtful ponder in which James was able to reflect upon the intricacies of the act of putting one's name on a piece of paper while contemplating the consequences of actions as such which were in Jame's current thought process.
James left a short few seconds afterwards, humming to himself happily as the ink which spelled his name dried on the paper.

Jeremy had just finished checking out two books for his history class. Why do history classes assign so many papers? So much writing! So much reading and stuff! He would have to spend a couple hours on that tonight, get a head start since he knew it'd take him a while to finish. He turned to walk off--
What's that? A study group sign-up sheet? He loved study groups! It was so much easier figuring something out when someone else was also figuring it out with you. Teamwork always makes things better!
He grabbed a pen so that he could sign his name and glanced over some of the other names on the sign-up sheet. Mia, Roach, James... Wow! Mia seemed pretty smart, she'd be great in a study group. She was pretty, too, though that probably doesn't really have anything to do with a study group come to think of it. Roach was funny and James could see the future--oh! Maybe James could tell them all what questions would be on the tests! That would make it SO much easier to study!
With much enthusiasm, Jeremy scrawled his name on the sign-up sheet.
((OOC note: Jeremy isn't actually taking chemistry this year.))

"Oh my lord, Corona. You did what?"
Zach glanced to the empty air next to him, though for him it wasn't exactly empty. Corona was projecting her image next to him, jumping up and down and laughing.
"Come on Zach, it'll be great! You can help a bunch of people with their homework and maybe make a few friends who aren't terrified of you."
Zach rolled his eyes, turning around. "I'm not going, Corona. Especially with Mia and James there."
"You're being stupid. Besides, they're not together anyway."
"And yet you had the brilliant idea of telling how many people I was more interested in Penny than I was in trying to get together with Mia?"
Corona smiled innocently and shrugged. "That was just to get them to stop asking about you and Mia anyway. But really, come on. You don't even have to be awake for it, I can handle it all."
"You're right I'll be sleeping. Dammit." Zach shook his head. "Stop that! I'm not signing up."
"Too late." Corona giggled, then started whistling. Zach blinked a few times, then looked down to see that he had uncapped his pen. He looked up at the sign-up sheet.
In Corona's "best" approximation of his handwriting, she had signed his name to the list.
"Dammit Corona! What the hell?" He glared at her, then turned and walked away. "You had better not embarrass me more."
