Eli arrived just in time to see Zach flee from Ar's company. He decided to give that situation, whatever it was, a wide berth. Looking around, he spotted Cadence and noted that those sitting near her looked much more comfortable than everybody else. Well, that certainly made deciding where to sit easy enough.
"Hey guys." It looked like Morgan and Kai had the best seats taken already, on either side of Cadence. He settled for tossing his blanket on the ground next to Morgan, then flopped down on it.

Re: Total Eclipse (Open RP)
Cadence giggled a little in response to Kai's request, and turned up the heat for him. Then Eli brought his blanket out and set it down next to Morgan. Once she reached what she thought was a comfortable temp, she leveled things off and concentrated on keeping the temperature where it was at.
"Hey Eli," she said in response to his greeting. She looked Kai's way, tilting her head a little. "This good? Or does it need to be hotter?"
She reached into her coat pocket and pulled out a bag of jalapeno cheddar chips. The bag crinkled as she opened it and pulled a couple chips out. She held the open end out so one of the others could snag one.
"Anybody want some?"

"Oooh! Fud!" Morgan reached a gloved hand over and grabbed some of the chips.
("Ah, Hohiro, you're here," Carrie said, as a third smokey form joined the two ghosts already there. "Where are the others?"
If smoke could shrug, Hohiro would have. "They're coming: they can't coalesce as fast as I can." And even as he spoke, a light mist had gathered, and started to rise into vaguely human shapes.
Carrie sniffed. "Are you sure you have enough capacity for this? Morgan may not be at full power yet, but the LAST time there was an eclipse-"
"Don't worry about it," Hohiro cut her off. "I'm sure we'll do fine. Eight specters should be able to handle an adolescent's output.")
Morgan mostly ignored the ghosts' conversation, but she DID take stock of her surroundings, in case Hohiro and the rest of them weren't as good as they thought, and she needed to make a quick exit.

Re: Total Eclipse (Open RP)
The drawing pad didn't stay forgotten for long.
What do emo boys draw about? Ar mused to himself, spreading out more in the sudden open space. He did a quick, cursory flip through, just to gauge what kind of a weapon he was holding. Not bad. Probably. It was dark and, arbiter of awesome though he may be, Arthur didn't know a lot about art. The dark part he could have fixed (one of the upsides to having eyes that glowed conspicuously), but it wasn't like he planned on tracking Zach down tonight to give it back.
There would be plenty of time to figure out exactly what was here and exactly what it could do back in his room. Hopefully something good after that "I'm an ignorant asshole, but don't you dare call me on it 'cause I'm pretending to be honorable about it" act. Not your best line, Artie lad. It would need to be tightened up a bit before he used it anywhere. Something short and punchy, easy to toss out in a busy hallway. 'The most honorable ignorant asshole in...' somewhere. Maybe 'honorable racist prick.' Fewer syllables, easier to throw.
"The Right Honorable Zach Long, Racist Prick Extraordinaire," he murmured to himself; some people stopped at the words, but Ar knew the sound of it was important, too. Either way, it was still too long and didn't really play up the dissonance between 'honorable' and 'little ignorant shit' as much as it needed to. The title thing was good though.
Ar tucked the pad under his coat and sprawled on his back, face to the sky. Not some Okie from Norman. His eyes glowed faintly, googlemaps and student records popped to life in his peripheral vision. A smirk played at the corner of his mouth. Oh, yes you are. You're the most dignified, racist shit of an Okie Norman has to offer. But who uses a word like 'Okie'? Really?

Re: Total Eclipse (Open RP)
Laura looked out the window at the people gathered outside. She should have been out there: she needed the grades, and she was sure detention wouldn't stop her from participating in something that was basically school work. But she couldn't bring herself to venture outside and mingle with all the unfamiliar faces.
Maybe if she just told someone...
She shook her head. This was something she had to deal with for herself. And besides, it had been too long (hadn't it? She glanced at the calendar beside her bed: crap, it was Christmas already), and people probably wouldn't appreciate being tricked and lied to for such a long time.
She cracked open her math textbook and started on her homework.
Angela frowned. The girl was starting to get ideas on a much more frequent basis, and it was getting harder to dissuade her from following through on them. She would have to step her plan if she wanted to get her revenge before the girl got backup.

Re: Total Eclipse (Open RP)
Lorne walked up with as much excitement in his step as he dared provided the load he was carrying. He brought with him a tripod in one hand, a telescope under his arm, a notebook and several pens in his other hand, a pair of binoculars and digital camera hung around his neck and a black camera bag hung from his teeth.
He looked around and saw the various students sitting out on blankets. Dammit, he thought to himself, I knew I forgot something. He looked around at the various students trying to figure out where to set up. He wanted to have a good view. After all, it wasn't every day that something like this happened. In fact the last time a lunar eclipse occurred on the winter solstice was over four hundred years ago. He figured he wouldn't be around for it to happen again so he was going to take full advantage of it.
He continued glancing from spot to spot trying to pick the perfect place to set up. He began trudging towards a clear area when he stepped in a small hole in the ground he had not seen. He immediately twisted and contorted as his body began to fall to the ground. He spun around throwing his one arm without the tripod tucked under it for balance. As he spun and tumbled there were various occasions where it looked as though something was going to go flying, but some how the boy kept everything together. He ended up on his knees about five feet away from where the hole was. He sat there for a minute trying to make sure he and everything he was carrying was still intact.

Re: Total Eclipse (Open RP)
Cadence held the bag Morgan's way long enough for the necromancer to take a few chips, completely unaware of the conversation going on among the ghosts that seemed to gather around her. Once the other girl had taken a few, she took another one herself. Normally her snack of choice was jalapenos. She didn't bother with putting them in something, like a sandwich or some other dish. She just plucked them straight out of the jar, nibbled on them seeds and all. Unfortunately, she was out. She'd eaten the last of them earlier that afternoon while studying for one of her classes. Chips would have to do until she got a chance to make a store run.
Cadence yawned as she waited for the eclipse to do its thing. She hadn't been sleeping well since the attack. Her dreams were haunted with needles, fluid tanks and lab coats. They both terrified her and frustrated her. She knew that on some level, these were memories that had been stirred by the Loa. And while part of her wanted to remember the past that Crey had erased...another part of her didn't want to remember any of it at all. Who would want to remember being poked, prodded and abused by lab workers? She curled her knees up, wrapping her arms around them as she tried to get her thoughts back to keeping the area comfortably warm and the shadow that was slowly but surely beginning to cover the moon.
"Anybody know how long this is supposed to last?" she said, her words tapering off a bit as she yawned again.
Right about then, Lorne went into his spectacular tumble.

Re: Total Eclipse (Open RP)
Lorne smiled through the camera bag in his teeth and concentrated a bit before bouncing off his knees back to his feet. He stood there a second regaining his balance and continued to an open spot of ground. A few minutes later he had a tripod mounted telescope with a special attachment for hooking his camera up to the lens. He was peering through his binoculars trying to get some of the details of the moon just before the event. He let his binoculars fall to his chest next to his camera and picked up his note pad to write something in it.
He really didn't need the extra points despite what his grade said. He had calculated all his grades in class and was performing at straight A's as he suspected. This wasn't for the points, this was for the experience. It's not every day that an event like this happens.
He checked his notes again adjusted his telescope and waited in nerdy anticipation.

Re: Total Eclipse (Open RP)
("This is it.")
The chips she had gotten from Cadence were still in her hand, forgotten, as Morgan gazed upwards, rapt: she hadn't needed the warning. The first sliver of shadow over the moon had sent a shiver down her spine as she felt her power surge.
Her magic was so rarely poetic. It wasn't the temporary "death" of the moon that caused her power to increase, it was the temporary alleviation of the normal restrictions on her powers. Necromancers rarely had access to their full potential; sunlight kept them in check. And after all, what was moonlight but reflected sunlight? Even starlight was a hindrance.
Not nearly enough of one, though. The moon lost another degree to darkness, and Morgan started to funnel excess power into the spirits gathered around her.
((As the moon fades, Morgan's eyes will mimic it, and be completely black while the eclipse is full. The eight ghosts gathered in the air around her will be fully visible once the moon is about half obscured, and fully tangible and audible soon after that. They'll look like smokey human-shaped clouds, like fluffy. Anyone who can sense magic should be able to sense her magic growing steadily as the moon disappears.))
