Hey Poppy. It's been a couple months since I heard from you. I'm assuming you're in Acapulco. Heard about what happened out there earlier this month. 27 deaths? Decapitations? Sounds like something that would draw your attention. News says that one of the cartel leaders was taken into custody, so looks like you're doing some good out there.

I wanted to let you know that I've got powers. It was bound to happen, since you and mom both have them. I've been practicing some, but the teleporting has been going a little slow. I can go maybe a few blocks at best right now. Mom enrolled me at Westbrook Academy, so that I can get some help in learning to use my powers responsibly. I got to take a brief tour of the campus while she was filling out the paperwork. Asked me a lot of wierd questions. Get this, they asked if I was a cyborg! Really, what's up with that? Aside from that, the students I met seemed okay. I'll just have to wait and see how things play out.

I guess I'll wrap this up. I know you're probably busy, but get back to me when you can. Maybe pass on some tips? I've registered with the FBSA as Anchor Point, and mom's given me the okay to start patrolling. Could use any pointers you're willing to offer.

Diego stared at the computer screen in disbelief. He should have expected it though, he thought to himself. He was never good enough, and for some reason his father seemed to take pleasure in pointing that out in every discussion they had. Sure, emails tended to make things come across more harsh than intended in most cases. But when it came to Santos Mendez, those words really were harsh and fully intended to be. Diego cringed a little as the dripping noise continued on unrelenting. He hadn't told his father what was going on at the school. The last thing he needed was to be dressed down over something he had no control over.

He leaned forward and grabbed the box of sleeping pills from the far end of the desk. He'd been taking them religiously for a week now. It was the only way he could get any sort of sleep. He popped one out of a blister pack, reached for his water and took the pill. He'd figure out what to do about this deal with his dad in the morning.

((Meh...this took place a few days before the big chanting/freakout of Tuesday night.))
