Hey guys. I decided not to make the video public. I wrote it for you, so I'd rather just share with you. But since I already recorded it I thought I might as well send you the copy just in case you want to hear it again. Here's the link to it on youtube (private so you'll need to log in for it). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBcDeFgHiJk

The above link ((which does not link to anything in the real world!)) leads to the following video.

The video starts with Eli sitting in what is clearly his dorm room. A pair of bunked beds are behind him to one side, and a mirror is behind him on the other side though the angle isn't conducive to seeing anything in it. Eli's seated in a chair, holding his guitar. He immediately begins playing the guitar in a fingerpicking style. The tune has a sense of bittersweet tenderness. The song starts with an instrumental lead-in that has a strong, clear melody supported by layers of harmony. When the lead-in finishes, he begins to play a more gentle accompaniment as he begins to sing. His voice is expressive and full of feeling.

You hit me hard and fast
I was taken by surprise
With immediate attraction
But dazed and dizzy as I was
I missed my chance to ask you

The guitar transitions back into the harmonization that accompanied the lead-in. This time, the melody is sung and proves to be the song's chorus.

My heart is lost to you
But the feeling's one way
Yet how can I complain?
I want this feeling to stay
So I convince myself
That I'll have you someday

Eli makes a brief transition out of the chorus, then back into a more gentle accompaniment again.

You drew me soft and slow
I was taken by surprise
When friendship turned to more
And though it felt so good, so true,
There was no chance to ask you

The song moves back into the chorus's harmonization again.

My heart is lost to you
But the feeling's one way
Yet how can I complain?
I want this feeling to stay
So I convince myself
That I'll have you someday

Eli ramps up the intensity of the playing. The tune's tone gains a sense of striving tension as he moves into the song's bridge. The emotional quality of his vocals soars.

I asked but you said no
Why can't two be three?
I wait and watch and hope
Why can't you like me?

Shifting up a key, Eli resolves the tune back into the chorus.

My heart is lost to you
But your feelings I'll sway
So please do not complain
At the zeal I display
You'll be convinced in time
Then I'll have you someday

The guitar provides a gentle variation of the end of the chorus.

Yes please let me believe
That I'll have you someday

Eli plays a modified form of the chorus one last time, gently bringing the song to a close. The video then ends.
